Inspire Yourself

"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal."

About Me

I grew up in small-town Mississippi.  Realizing, very early, that the world was wide open and ready to be explored, I set my sights on experiencing life at every turn.  Upon completing studies at Hinds Community College I then headed to the University of Mississippi, where I studied pre-law and business.  After leaving "Ole Miss" I moved to Dallas, Texas.

This move opened so many doors for me.  I've had the pleasure of being involved in several creative and exciting opportunities.  Modeling, Acting, Writing, Decorating and Business were just a few of the endeavors in which I found myself enjoying.

I have worked (and continue to work) with a passion, often 20 hours a day.  I had a burning desire to learn as much as I could about each of the opportunities presented to me.  The flexibility of the most creative positions allowed me to combine those with my corporate position(s) that I held throughout my Corporate career.  Associates Corporation of North America, Gannett Publications, Leather Center and Heritage Publishing provided me with the corporate opportunity I wanted along with the time flexibility to pursue more creative challenges.

Throughout my professional life I have resided in Dallas, Houston, and Austin, Texas, as well as Los Angeles and San Diego, California and New York.  Each place holds a special affinity for me.   Every place I have traveled has also been exciting and enlightening.  I pride myself in meeting, greeting and knowing new people daily.   I believe our lives are enriched by the interaction with others.

In Austin I attended the University of Texas Law School, where I specialized in Mediation & Dispute Resolution.   I have had the chance to provide my expertise in resolving issues of a domestic nature, tax matters, real estate transactions, insurance disputes and various other conflicts.

Also, while in Austin, I became a Massage Therapist.   It provided me with the incredible experience of relieving stress and anxiety, for others, through a very physical and relaxing practice.   The touch of another is unequaled in relieving and relaxing the body's defenses.

As National Recruiting Director for several companies, I have encountered individuals from all sectors of the population.   The common factor between all of us is the "want" to have a life that is enjoyable, full and content.   I've also had the benefit of being involved in the Gemstone industry, serving as the Executive Director for the American Gem Trade Association.   This provided me with the opportunity to interact with people of multiple cultures and beliefs.

My professional development has also been enhanced through volunteering with various organizations.   Kiwanis, Junior Achievement, The Escape Center, Key Club and others provide unique awareness to those lives they touch.   I am pleased to know that my involvement provided an impact on others.

I have discovered the best way to understand others is to listen, without judgment, and to open my heart and mind to new perspectives.   The universe is a vast collection of individuals with unique observations and experiences.   We are each different in ways that can only be uncovered by the free and open exchange of our pathways.

I continue to be passionate about my professional endeavors, my personal relationships and my emotional well-being.   Friends and loved ones are key in developing a good self-image.   Know that you are valued and worthy.
